What makes a tea towel a tea towel? Good question!
I think their rectangular shape make them ideal for lining tea trays....hence the name.
These tea towels are mostly cotton and have a polyester stitch. They are absorbent and have a handy loop for hanging. Great for the kitchen or bathroom. They are a top seller and make a lovely host gift.
Inspired by traditional shibori techniques, each tea towel is folded and rubber banded to reveal a striped pattern once dipped in the dye vat. Pattern style and dye intensity are varied. Your tea towel double pack is unique and will not look exactly like the product photos....but will be pretty darn close.
Each tea towel is approx. 17in x 26in
Two towels per pack.
Hand-dyed by Natalie Menacho on Orcas Island, Washington using a "Sugar Vat" consisting of organic indigo, fructose, and slaked lime. These are all-natural inputs and the rinse water safely finds it's way into my yard. I've been growing indigo since 2024. Some of the organic indigo used to dye this item was grown on-island!
The dye has been set and these tea towels are colorfast.
Machine wash cold, with like colors. Tumble dry as you wish.
